How to delete a tachograph record
Delete a tachograph record when the physical device is no longer active in your fleet — for example, when it has been replaced with a newer unit or when the vehicle it was installed in has been sold or taken out of service.
Before you delete — consider editing instead. If you’re moving the tachograph to a different vehicle, use Edit tachograph to update the vehicle link. Deletion is permanent and removes the full download history, which you may need for compliance audits.
When to delete
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| Device replaced by a new tachograph | Delete the old record; add the new one. |
| Vehicle sold or permanently decommissioned | Delete the record if you no longer need the compliance history. |
| Tachograph moved to a different vehicle | Edit the record and change the Vehicle field — do not delete. |
| Duplicate record created by mistake | Delete the duplicate. |
Step 1 — Open Tachographs
From the left-hand menu, click My Fleet → Tachographs.
Step 2 — Click the delete icon
Find the tachograph row and click the bin (🗑) icon on the right side of the row.
Step 3 — Confirm the deletion
A confirmation prompt appears. Confirm to proceed.
The record is permanently deleted along with all download history entries associated with it, including any attached files.
What is deleted
- The tachograph device record (name, serial number, type, calibration dates, certificate, workshop).
- Every download history entry linked to this device.
- All file attachments (calibration certificate and download file attachments).
What is not deleted

- Any other documents or records associated with that vehicle.
