Assigning vehicles to a group

You can add vehicles to a group using either of two methods. Unlike units, there is no limit to how many groups a vehicle can belong to.

Method 1 — From the group form

Use this method when you are setting up or updating a group and want to assign multiple vehicles at once.

1. Go to Settings → Groups.
2. Click Add group to create a new group, or click the pencil (edit) icon next to an existing group.
3. In the Vehicles field, click the Choose vehicles selector.
4. Search for and select each vehicle you want to include in this group.
5. Click Save.

The selected vehicles are added to the group immediately. Any vehicles already in the group that you did not deselect remain in the group.

Method 2 — From the vehicle’s edit form

Use this method when you are already editing a vehicle and want to manage its group memberships at the same time.

1. Open the vehicle you want to assign (for example from the Vehicles list).
2. Click the Edit button for that vehicle.
3. Find the Groups field in the vehicle form.
4. Select one or more groups from the dropdown.
5. Save the vehicle.

The vehicle is now a member of all selected groups.

Removing a vehicle from a group

• In the group form, deselect the vehicle from the Choose vehicles field and save.
• In the vehicle form, remove the group from the Groups field and save.

Removing a vehicle from a group does not delete the vehicle or affect its unit membership.
