How to register a new set of tires
Tires in Movcar live as separate records (independent of vehicles) so you can move them between cars, store them off-vehicle in winter/summer, and track their lifetime mileage. This guide shows how to add a new set.
Step 1 — Open Tires
From the left-hand menu, click My Fleet → Tires. You’ll see your existing tires with search, filter, Import, Export and + Add at the top-right.
Step 2 — Click “+ Add”
The new-tires form opens.
Step 3 — Fill in the required fields
Only two fields are required:
- Tire Type
*— pick from the dropdown: All-season tires, Summer tires, Winter tires, Highway tires, Spare tires, Rib tires, etc. - Vehicle
*— which vehicle these tires belong to. (Even if they’re currently in storage, you still pick the vehicle they’re assigned to.)
Step 4 — Add the technical specs (optional but useful)
The form pre-fills common defaults so you mostly just confirm:
| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Serial Number | — | If the tires have a DOT code or stock number, log it here. |
| Width | 205 | In mm. |
| Profile height | 55 | Aspect ratio. |
| Rim diameter | 16 | In inches. |
| Energy class | — | Pick from the EU label scale (A–G). |
| Load index (capacity) | — | E.g. 91 = 615 kg. |
| Speed index | — | Pick from the dropdown (H, V, W, Y, etc.). |
Step 5 — Purchase and warranty info (optional)
If you have the receipt:
- Purchase date — when you bought them.
- Manufacturer — Pirelli, Michelin, Continental, etc.
- Manufacturing date — DOT code from the tire sidewall.
- Manufacturer warranty expiration — when the warranty runs out.
- Maximum mileage — manufacturer’s expected lifespan in km.
These power warranty-expiry reminders and let you compare actual vs expected mileage.
Step 6 — Mount now or store for later
Two checkboxes/fields at the bottom of the form decide what happens next:
- Installed — tick this if the tires are currently fitted to the vehicle.
- Tires position — if Installed, pick where they’re mounted (e.g. Front Left, Rear Right).
You can also leave Installed unchecked and fill in:
- Depository address — where the tires are stored when off the vehicle (e.g. “Workshop on Karolkowa 22”).
💡 Tip — Most teams register tires first with Installed off, then go through the Mount tires flow when actually fitting them. Keeps the storage record clean.
Step 7 — Save
Top-right, click the purple Save. Or Save & Add New if you’re registering several sets in a row.
The new tires appear at the top of the list with the Installed column showing ✓ (green) or ✗ (red) at a glance.
What’s next?
- Mount tires on a vehicle once they’re fitted
- View tire history to track mileage and changeover dates
- Import tires in bulk if you’ve got a long list from a previous system
