How to send a push message to drivers

The Push Messages feature lets you send in-app notifications directly to drivers who have the Movcar app installed. Messages appear immediately on the driver’s phone.

Path: Settings → Push Messages (URL: /admin/resources/messages)

—

Requirements

Before sending a message, make sure:

  • The driver has downloaded the Movcar app (iOS App Store or Google Play).
  • The driver has connected the app using a fleet connection code. Drivers who have not yet connected will not receive messages.

If drivers are not yet connected, see How drivers connect their phone to Movcar.

—

Creating a push message

  1. Go to Settings → Push Messages.
  2. Click Create message (or the equivalent new-record button).
  3. Fill in the form:
FieldRequiredDescription
TitleYesShort subject line shown as the notification heading.
MessageYesThe body text of the notification.
Drivers with appNoDefaults to All connected drivers. Select specific drivers to restrict who receives the message.
  1. Choose when to send the message (see Scheduling options below).
  2. Click Save to schedule or send immediately, or Save and add new to create another message straight away.

Scheduling options

Send immediately

By default, the Send immediately checkbox is checked. Leave it checked to deliver the message as soon as you click Save.

Send on a specific date and time

Uncheck Send immediately to reveal the Send on this day datetime picker. Select the date and time you want the message to go out. All times use the workspace time zone (Europe/Warsaw by default).

Recurring messages

When a scheduled date is set, recurring options become available. You can configure the message to repeat:

  • Daily — sent every day at the selected time
  • Weekly — sent on the same day each week
  • Monthly — sent on the same date each month

Recurring messages appear in the list with a pink badge labelled Recurring. One-time messages display a green One-time badge.

—

Viewing sent and scheduled messages

The Push Messages list shows all messages across three tabs:

TabWhat it shows
AllEvery message regardless of type
One-time messagesSingle-send messages (sent or scheduled)
Recurring messagesMessages on a repeating schedule

The table columns give you a quick overview:

  • Send on this day — the scheduled send date, or the date it was sent.
  • Type — badge indicating One-time or Recurring.
  • Title — the message subject.
  • Message — a preview of the message body.
  • User — who created the message.
  • Recipients — which drivers were targeted.
  • Sent notifications — how many notifications were actually delivered.

Use the action icons on each row to view details, edit a scheduled message before it sends, or delete it.
