Tracking upcoming service visits

There’s a common expectation that fleet apps have a “Upcoming visits” calendar where you click a vehicle and see the next scheduled workshop date. Movcar takes a different approach — it gives you a Status Overview dashboard that surfaces all the operations due across your fleet, then you book the visit yourself based on what you see.

Where “upcoming” actually lives

PlaceWhat it shows
Service → Status OverviewPer-vehicle list of all upcoming and overdue service operations, with countdown by date and km.
Service → Service VisitLog of past visits only — no future calendar.
Email notificationsIf reminders are enabled, you get an email before each operation is due.
Driver’s mobile appDrivers can see upcoming service items for vehicles assigned to them.

Step 1 — Open the Status Overview

From the left-hand menu, click Service → Status Overview. The list shows every active service-plan / vehicle combination with:

  • Vehicle + current odometer.
  • Operation + the plan that schedules it (e.g. “Oil Filter Change / Every 1 year(s) or 10,000 km”).
  • Status — OVERDUE (red) or UPCOMING (green).
  • Next due — both “4 months from now” and “34,051 km remaining” shown together.

Step 2 — Filter to what matters

Use the filter icon (top-right) to narrow down:

  • By Vehicle — focus on one car.
  • By Operation — see which oil changes are coming up across the whole fleet.
  • By Status — show OVERDUE only.

Step 3 — Book the workshop

Outside Movcar — call your workshop and book a slot. Movcar doesn’t integrate with booking systems (yet).

Step 4 — Log the visit when it happens

After the visit, log it via + Add in the Service Visit list — see How to schedule a service visit. Once the visit is logged with the operations performed, the Status Overview clears those reminders and recalculates the next due date based on the Service Plan.

Tips for staying ahead

  • Filter Status Overview to “Upcoming” and skim once a week. Anything within ~30 days is your booking queue.
  • Enable email reminders in your notification preferences — Movcar emails you per due-date threshold.
  • Add notes to Service Plans with the preferred workshop, contact, and lead time. Drivers and fleet managers see those when planning.
