How to cancel a service visit
A “cancellation” in Movcar means deleting the Service Visit record. There’s no separate cancelled-vs-deleted state — if the visit didn’t happen, you remove it.
⚠ Deleting a visit also deletes its operations — any Service operations created as part of this visit go with it. If you logged the operations separately (not via the visit), those stay.
When to cancel vs edit
- Cancel (delete) — if no work was done at all. E.g. you booked a workshop slot, the car broke down on the way, the visit was rescheduled to a different provider.
- Edit — if some work was done but less than planned. Keep the visit, remove the operations that didn’t happen.
Step 1 — Find the visit
Open Service → Service Visit, search by vehicle plate or scroll.
Step 2 — Click the trash icon
At the right end of the row, click 🗑. Movcar asks for confirmation.
Step 3 — Confirm
Click Delete. The visit and its operations are removed and a green toast confirms.
What gets undone
| Effect | Notes |
|---|---|
| Service operations | Operations inside the visit are also deleted. |
| Expenses | All costs attached to those operations are removed from the vehicle’s lifetime maintenance total. |
| Mileage entry | If the visit’s odometer created a mileage row, that row stays (because Mileage is a separate section) — delete it via My Fleet → Mileage if you want to clean that up too. |
| Status Overview | Any next-revision reminders that depended on operations in this visit will reappear as OVERDUE. |
