How to delete a service operation
Delete is for genuine errors — duplicate entries, operations logged against the wrong vehicle, or test data. For corrections, edit is almost always safer.
⚠ Consider archiving instead — Movcar has a “Hide archived data” filter on the Service Operations list. Tick the Archived field via Edit to hide an operation from daily view without losing the record. Useful for audit trails.
Step 1 — Find the operation
Open Service → Service Operations. Search by operation name or scroll.
Step 2 — Click the trash icon
At the right end of the row, click 🗑. Movcar asks for confirmation.
Step 3 — Confirm
Click Delete. The operation is removed and a green toast confirms.
What deletion affects
| Side-effect | Notes |
|---|---|
| Service Visit | If the operation belonged to a visit, the visit’s operation list shrinks by one. The visit itself stays. |
| Status Overview | If the operation had a Next-revision date or mileage, the UPCOMING/OVERDUE row in Status Overview disappears too — until the next matching operation is logged. |
| Expense reports | The expense attached to this operation is also deleted, lowering the vehicle’s lifetime maintenance cost. |
| Service Plan | The recurring schedule is unaffected — only this individual instance is removed. |
