How to delete a route

Use delete when a route was logged for the wrong vehicle, duplicated, or shouldn’t exist at all.

⚠ Consider archive instead — if you want the route gone from your daily view but kept for the records, the filter at the top of the Routes page has a Show archived checkbox. There’s no separate archive action in the edit form, but you can use the bulk-selection ☑ in the header row to archive multiple routes at once if your version of Movcar has that option enabled.

Step 1 — Find the route

Open My Fleet → Routes, narrow by the All / In Progress / Completed tabs if helpful.

Step 2 — Click the trash icon

At the right end of the row, click 🗑. Movcar asks for confirmation.

Step 3 — Confirm

Click Delete. The route disappears and a green toast confirms.

What deletion doesn’t affect

  • The vehicle’s mileage is unchanged — routes draw on the vehicle’s mileage history but don’t write to it directly.
  • Driver activity reports recalculate immediately to exclude the deleted route.
  • Documents attached to the route are also deleted — make sure you’ve kept any client-signed delivery notes elsewhere if you need them.

Alternative: edit to mark as test/cancelled

If you want to keep the row for an audit trail but make it obvious it shouldn’t count, edit the route and:

  • Add “CANCELLED” or “TEST” to the Destination field.
  • Set Rate per Km to 0 so it doesn’t show value in billing reports.

This keeps the history intact while making it clear at a glance.
