Viewing and responding to a fleet message
When a driver sends a message from the mobile app, it appears in the Messages list with status New. Here is how to handle it from there.
Step 1 — Open the message
In the Messages list (URL: /admin/resources/fleet-alerts), click the message row or the eye icon in the row controls. The detail view opens.
Step 2 — Review the detail
The detail view shows:
- Full message text from the driver
- Vehicle the message relates to
- Driver name who sent it
- Location — a Google Maps link if the driver shared their GPS position when sending
- Attachments — any photos or files the driver attached (e.g. a photo of damage)
Step 3 — Reply in the thread
Below the main message is a reply thread. Type your response and send it — your reply is delivered to the driver’s mobile app. The driver can reply back, and the conversation continues in the same thread.
The Thread count column in the list view updates to reflect the number of exchanges.
Step 4 — Assign a fleet manager
Use the Assigned fleet manager field to assign the alert to the team member responsible for following up. This makes ownership clear when multiple managers share the messages inbox.
Step 5 — Update the status
Change the status as you work through the issue:
| From | To | When |
|---|---|---|
| New | In progress | You start handling the message |
| In progress | Solved | The issue is resolved |
Updating the status keeps the list filterable — you can hide solved messages and focus on what still needs attention.
Fleet messages cannot be deleted. They are a permanent record of driver communications and vehicle events.
