Understanding fleet messages
Fleet messages are notifications sent by drivers from the Movcar mobile app. They appear in the admin panel for fleet managers to review, respond to, and resolve.
Where it lives
From the left-hand menu, click Messages (URL: /admin/resources/fleet-alerts).
Admins cannot create messages from the admin panel. All messages originate from drivers using the Movcar mobile app. Your role in the admin panel is to read, respond to, assign, and resolve them.
Message types
There are four types of message a driver can send:
| Type | When drivers use it |
|---|---|
| Technical breakdown | Driver reports a vehicle malfunction or fault |
| Vehicle check | Driver submits the result of a vehicle inspection checklist |
| Message | General free-text message to the fleet administrator |
| Vehicle cleanliness | Driver reports a cleanliness issue with the vehicle |
The messages list
The list shows all messages received across your fleet. Each row includes:
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| Date registered | When the message was sent |
| Vehicle | Vehicle the message relates to |
| Driver | Driver who sent it |
| Assigned fleet manager | Fleet manager currently responsible for follow-up |
| Message type | One of the four types above |
| Status | Current status in the workflow |
| Message preview | First line of the message text |
| Location | Google Maps link if the driver shared their location |
| Thread count | Number of replies in the conversation thread |
| Attachments | Indicator if photos or files were attached |
Status workflow
Each message moves through three statuses:
New → In progress → Solved
- New — message has arrived but no one has started working on it yet.
- In progress — a fleet manager has acknowledged the message and is handling it.
- Solved — the issue has been resolved and the message is closed.
Fleet messages are a permanent log — there is no delete action. Every message remains in the list regardless of status.
Filtering the list
Use the filter dropdown to focus on what needs attention:
- Filter by message type to see only breakdowns, inspections, general messages, or cleanliness reports.
- Filter by status to see only new messages, messages in progress, or resolved messages.
What’s next?
- Viewing and responding to a fleet message to open a message, reply to the driver, and update its status
