Resending the App Connection Code to a driver

Drivers misplace App Connection Codes — phone got reset, email got deleted, they changed phones, etc. Resending is a one-minute task.

Option A — Resend the existing code

Best if the code is still valid and not shared with too many other people.

  1. Open Settings → Driver’s App Connection.
  2. Find the code linked to the driver (use the Title column to spot it, or check the Vehicles connected column for the vehicles the driver uses).
  3. Click the 📋 copy icon next to the code. The full code (workspace prefix + suffix) is copied to your clipboard.
  4. Paste into an email, WhatsApp, SMS — whichever you use to communicate with drivers.
  5. The driver enters it in the app’s first screen.

💡 Tip — Include the prefix — the workspace prefix (e.g. LCP153-) is part of the code. Don’t paste just the suffix or the driver will get an “invalid code” error.

Option B — Generate a new code and rotate

Use this when:

  • The old code may have been compromised (sent to too many people, posted somewhere public).
  • You’re cleaning up an old shared code and want each driver on their own.

Steps:

  1. Settings → Driver’s App Connection → + Add.
  2. Set the same Vehicle selection as the old code (so the driver still sees the same vehicles).
  3. Optionally set the Title to identify this is a replacement (e.g. “John Test 2 — replaces JD2024”).
  4. Save.
  5. Copy the new code and send it to the driver.
  6. After the driver confirms they’re back in the app, delete the old code — see How to delete a code. This kicks out anyone still using the old one.

⚠ Deleting a shared code affects every driver using it — if multiple drivers share the old code, generating a fresh one for one driver doesn’t disconnect the others. To disconnect everyone, delete the shared code. To disconnect only one driver, create a new code for them and tell only them.

What if the driver can’t see their vehicles after entering the code?

The code is correct but the Vehicle selection on the code might be wrong. Open the code in Settings → Driver’s App Connection, check the Vehicles field, and fix if needed. The driver sees the change within ~5 minutes (sometimes a force-close of the app helps).
